We have now started work on the new Parish and Community Room adjacent to the Church. The construction should take around 10 months to complete so we hope to have the new room available from Easter 2012.
St Margaret’s Church has been serving the villages of Fernhurst, Kingsley Green and Henley since the 12th Century and from that time has been at the heart of community life.
The people of St Margaret’s have a history of active involvement in the community providing support at times of need and being available at significant times in people’s lives whilst also serving in many local organisations including the Good Companions, the Lunch Club, the Fernhurst Centre and the Parish Council.
This involvement has made the people of St Margaret’s aware of many of the needs across a wide proportion of the population, needs that as a church we are trying to meet. However we have been limited by the facilities available to us as the existing Parish Room is only a temporary building in the Vicarage garden.

We have made great progress with our fund raising having raised just over £315,000 of the £350,000 needed. We therefore still need to raise a further £35,000 over the coming months. If you would like to make a contribution to this new phase in the life of the community and the church here in Fernhurst we would be delighted to hear from you.
