Each year we hold a Lent Course at St Margaret's.
This year we will be using as our theme the course 'Tough Talk - Hard Sayings of Jesus'

The course will run over five sessions held on
Tuesday evenings throughout Lent starting on
28th February in St Maragret's Church.

Tough Talk - Hard Sayings of Jesus
Some of Jesus' statements in the Gospels sound morally shocking - 'Hate your father and mother' - while others seem deliberately obscure. This 5-part course considers some of these challenges. There is a course booklet covering the five sessins. These are:

1. Shrinking and Growing
2. Giving and Using
3. Praying and Forgiving
4. Loving and Telling
5. Trusting and Entering

Jesus had many tough things to say about the world of his day which are still unpalatable to many people in today's world. In fact, none of us has to look too far
into scripture to find Jesus challenging our ideas, assumptions, prejudices and behaviour.

Tough Talk looks at many of the hard sayings of Jesus and faces them squarely. It's not always comfortable material, but it needs to be faced if we are to understand the full impact of the Gospel on our lives.
Tough Talk is not for the faint-hearted!
The course booklet, written by Canon John Young, includes questions aimed at provoking wide-ranging discussion.
In addition to the course booklet there will be an audio CD as an aid to discussion.
